Melvin D Murray

March 13, 1930 - March 24, 2022

Melvin D Murray of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away March 24, 2022, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 92. He was born March 13, 1930, in Waukegan, Illinois, the son of Earl and Dorothy Smith Murray. Melvin was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He married Dorothy Metz on December 23, 1951, in Waukegan, Illinois and worked for Illinois Bell Telephone Company until his retirement. Melvin lived in Mountain Home since moving from Waukegan, Illinois, in 1992. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and the V.F.W. Post #3246. He was also a member of the Korean War Veterans Association and the Telephone Pioneers. Melvin was a clock builder and created beautiful clocks for each of his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed woodworking, camping, and canoeing. Melvin is survived by his wife, Dorothy Murray of Mountain Home, AR; two sons, Clay (Joyce) Murray of Trevor, WI, and Timothy (Cyndi) Murray of Wasworth, IL; daughter, Lynn Lipman of Mountain Home, AR; 12 grandchildren, Jennifer (Johnny), Nathan (Erica), Courtney (Bob), Seth (Karen), Isaac, Abigail (William), Jessica (Adam), Jason (Courtney), Samantha (David), Kirsten (Tim), Taylor (Lauren), and Shannon (Steve); 22 great-grandchildren; and nephew, Earl Murray. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jim and Loren Murray. A Memorial Service will be 1:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church of Mountain Home, with Pastor Dan Schmidt officiating. Entombment will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum, Mountain Home, Arkansas. Military Honors will be provided by the Alley-White Post #52 and United States Army Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to the V.F.W. Post #3246. Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services - Mountain Home, Arkansas.
