Mattie Emma McConnell

A Funeral Service for Mattie Emma McConnell of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 3:00 pm, Saturday, November 10, 2018, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Ralph Harrison officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until time of service.
Mattie went to be with the Lord on November 5, 2018 at the age of 81. She was born in Hardin County, Illinois on June 23, 1937, to Hubert and Gladys Browning. She married Gilford (Frank) McConnell on August 29, 1959. They were married 53 years, living most of their lives in Manteno, Illinois before retiring to Mountain Home in 1987. Mattie loved spending time with her family, her dog Sam, baking, crafting and playing cards with special friends.
She is survived by her son, Scott (Cindy) McConnell of Mountain Home, AR; three grandchildren, Josh, Jeremy and Jessica (Eric) and one great-granddaughter, Charli Rose, all of Fayetteville, AR; two brothers, William P. Browning (Lynn) of Wilmington, IL and Tommy Joe Browning of Bradley, IL; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; five brothers, Hubert Jr., Ray Glendon, J.W., James Sherman and John Harvey Browning and four sisters, Nomia Ruth Mix, Rosetta Lovell, Geneva Smith and Mary Smith.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to Hospice of the Ozarks for all their care and support.
Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, AR, with Josh Clemence, Jeremy Clemence, Tim McConnell, Bob Clippinger, Steve Eiden and Bob Thompson as pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks.
