Marvin Clark Smith was born April 24, 1930, at Sharon Springs, Kansas, to Clark and Leona Brundige Smith. He was a biological technician for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for 24 years and an Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr. Smith enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He was a member of the VFW and the First Presbyterian Church. Marvin Clark Smith died Wednesday, August 23, 2006, in Mountain Home. Survivors: He is survived by one son, Dirk (Nancy) Smith of Mandeville, Louisiana; one daughter, Sara (Jerry) Wilson of Oswego, Kansas; nine grandchildren, Janna, Jamie, Jenna, Janessa, Matthew, Dustin, Jeremy, Rebecca and Katie; one half-brother, Robert Smith of Ransom, Kansas; two half-sisters, Dorothy Schneider of Wakeeney, Kansas; Ruth Ann Friy of Dodge, Kansas; and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one daughter, and one sister. Visitation: Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time Sunday at the funeral home. Funeral: Funeral services for Marvin Clark Smith, 76, of Salesville, Arkansas, will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 27 at Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home Chapel in Mountain Home, Arkansas, with Dr. Bruce McClendon officiating. Burial: Burial will be in Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Memorials: Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
