Leon Brandon

October 3, 1935 — January 19, 2022

Normal Leon Brandon of Gassville, Arkansas, passed away January 19, 2022, in Gassville, Arkansas at the age of 86. He was born October 3, 1935, in Monette, Arkansas, the son of W.S. and Eva Davis Brandon. Leon was a U.S. Army veteran. He married Rosetta on September 29, 1956, in Tunica, Mississippi and was an electrician and farmer. Leon lived in Gassville since 1964. He enjoyed tinkering with whatever was around and gardening from dawn until dusk.

After 22 days, Leon married the love of his life, Rosetta. Together they created 4 beautiful, ornery, and independent children that they are proud of. Throughout his life, Leon had many business endeavors that included a café, gas station, laundry mat, and a hardware store. He never met a stranger anywhere. One of Leon’s greatest joys in his life came from his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He went to many basketball games, band concerts, multiple Grandparent’s Day celebrations, and just about anything the grandkids wanted. Leon loved Jesus and held onto his faith to the end of his days. He often found peace in the garden growing fruit and vegetables. If Leon wasn’t in the garden, he spent most of his time in his workshop finding a new project to do every day. Leon was loved by many and will be missed by all.

Leon is survived by his wife, Rosetta (Tune) Brandon of Gassville, AR; daughter, Deborah (Joe Linch) Carpenter of Fairview, AR; daughter, Sandra (Ronnie) Harris of Maumelle, AR; son, Deryl (Sandy) Brandon of Bella Vista, AR; daughter, Sheryl (Jeff) Ramsey of Big Flat, AR; brother, Norman (Melba) Brandon of Gassville, AR; sister, Shirley Taylor of Jonesboro, AR; sister, Joyce Bost of Cardwell, MO; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren Allayah, Ariana, and August, with another on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Tommy Carpenter; and eight brothers and sisters, Essie Gooch, Arthaniel Brandon, Wynetta Dean, Inez Brandon, Eugene Brandon, Floyd Brandon, Clinton Brandon, and Roland Brandon.
