Laura Lea Cullen

October 1, 1953 — August 17, 2018

Family services to celebrate the life of Laura Lea Cullen of Flippin, Arkansas, are private.

Laura passed away at home on August 17, 2018 at the age of 64. She was born October 1, 1953, in Houston, Texas, the daughter of Morris and Frances Bishop Rawlings. Laura was a loving mother, wife, sister, aunt, grandmother and great friend. After a childhood as an Army brat in Europe and around this country, she found her true home in Arkansas. Laura and her husband, Mike created a wonderful homestead that, over the years, became a place that drew family and friends back together. She loved nature, all living things; and the White River and Bull Shoals Lake were her happy places. Laura was a professional real estate broker and adventurer who never turned down the call for travel to far-away places. Her camping and hiking stories are legendary and there are bears and wolves out there who knew her by name! Laura was massively creative, loved crafting, painting, landscaping, and decorating for the seasons. The artwork on the walls of her home are a testament to her appreciation for the beauty of the world as seen by fellow artists. She was a deep thinker, and she loved to inspire a jovial conversation among friends and family. The parties Laura threw were epic. Her years of genealogical research led to family history discoveries that her relatives prize today. She was strong willed and true to her friends and benevolent to all living creatures. Her talents and gifts were immense and she passed them along unrelentingly through her spirit that lighted every room she visited and outdoor space she graced. May Laura live forever in our hearts and in Heaven.

Laura is survived by her husband, Mike Cullen of Flippin, AR, sons, Michael (Melissa) of Louisiana and Brett (Brooke) of Alabama; brothers, Jeffrey (Ann) Rawlings of Mountain Home, AR and Detlef (Anna Karin) Hieronymus of Sweden; sisters, Deborah (Kendall) Bain of Flippin, AR, Leslie (Gene) Sherburne of Harrison, AR, Alice Lamar of Florissant, MO, and last, but not least grandson, Brody Cullen!

She was preceded in death by her parents.
