John passed away February 3, 2020, in Flippin, Arkansas at the age of 94. He was born July 18, 1925, in Houston, Texas, the son of John Palmer and Kate Sarah Pettit Hill. He married MayBell McKellar on April 11, 1952 in Lake Charles, Louisiana and worked as an Oil and Gas Engineer for Pure Oil and Union 76 Oil. John was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of WWII. He lived in Mountain Home since moving from Uvalde, Texas in 2013. He was a Texas A&M Alumni. He enjoyed playing golf, reading western novels and spending time with his family.
John is survived by his two sons, William James (Jody) Hill of New Braunfels, TX and John Edwin (Yvonne) Hill of Flippin, AR; daughter, Suzanne (Bill) Payne of Mountain Home, AR; sister, Shirley Ann Hill Bailey of Knoxville, TN; six grandchildren, Matthew Hill, Kristen Hill, Sarah Hill, John Payne, Daniel (Jessica) Payne and James (Kandace) Payne and two great-grandchildren, Kayla Grace Hill and Madelyn Isabelle Hill.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
