John passed away August 24, 2019, in Flippin, Arkansas at the age of 62. He was born November 11, 1956, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Harold and Margaret Christensen Gilbert. He was the twelfth born of fifteen children. John was a U.S. Army Veteran. He married Sandra Hart on September 19, 1983, and had one daughter. In 1985, they were divorced. In June of 1992, he married Leonora and helped raise his family. John lived in Flippin since moving from Chicago, Illinois. He enjoyed watching the Cubs, camping, spending time with his family, and he loved to go fishing.
John is survived by his first wife, Sandra Christensen of Bedford Park, IL; daughter, Michelle (Richard) Hutchinson of Salem, AR; daughter, Shannon (Jeremy Gowen) Cooper of Flippin, AR; daughter, Krystal (James "Walter") Janes of Columbia, KY; daughter, Amy Deutscher of Mountain Home, AR; son, Timothy (Brittany Simon) Deutscher of Flippin, AR; 20 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and second wife, Leonora Deutscher.
