James Curtis Partee

September 27, 1936 — November 11, 2020

James Curtis Partee of Bull Shoals, Arkansas, passed away November 11, 2020 at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 84. He was born September 27, 1936 in Mountain Home, Arkansas, the son of Virgil Ester Partee and Ruby Lee Carothers. He married the love of his life, Gloria Eileen Hurst in Mountain Home on September 4, 1965.

“Curtis” was a well known custom home builder in the area, continuing the wood working talents of his family before him. His great-great grandfather, also named “James” Partee, was among the earliest settlers in Arkansas, building and running the first saw mill on the White River in present day Izard County in 1814. His grandfather, Robert Wilson Partee built the first Church/Schoolhouse in Trimble Flats, now known as Lakeview, Arkansas and was both preacher and teacher.

Curtis loved to golf and spent many days with friends playing at Rivercliff Golf Course in Bull Shoals, Arkansas, adjacent to the White River. He was known to have a great sense of humor and kept everyone laughing. Curtis proudly served his Country as a Private in the National Guard.

Curtis is survived by his wife, Eileen Partee; son Terry Lynn Partee (Christi), of Bull Shoals; step-granddaughter, Autumn Phillips (Neal); step-great-grandchildren, Rylee & Chase Phillips of Austin, TX; brother; Jerril Dean Partee of Mountain Home; sister, Linda Lucille Heavener of Mountain Home and many cousins, nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Donald Eugene Partee, Robert Grant Partee, Leonard Leon Partee and Zula Faye Partee-King.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 28th at 3:00 p.m., at the Amos Cemetery in Lakeview, Arkansas with Reverend Randy Ludwig officiating.

Due to current restrictions, please use social distancing and masks.
