A Funeral Service of Harold Lloyd Cochran of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 4:00 pm, Saturday, April 28, 2018, at East Side Baptist Church, with Reverend Bill Hughes and Reverend Richard Crawford officiating.
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm until service time at the church.
Hal passed away April 24, 2018, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 92. He was born April 27, 1925, in Henryetta, Oklahoma, the son of Charles and Julia Cartwright Cochran of Fair Oaks, CA. Hal was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theatre including the ground invasion of Okinawa. He married Marilyn Schafer on April 9, 1958, in Anchorage, Alaska and worked as an Electrical Technician all over the world for the General Electric Corporation. Hal lived in Mountain Home since 1970, moving from Houston, Texas where he was a part of the Apollo Space program. He enjoyed flying and was a private pilot who especially enjoyed his time in Alaska. He was a member of the East Side Baptist church.
Hal is survived by his wife, Marilyn J. Cochran of Mountain Home, AR; four sons, Dr. Charles Cochran of Grass Valley, CA, Wayne Cochran of Ozona, FL, Steven Cochran of Henderson, AR and David Cochran of Cedar Park, TX; daughter Melissa Gann of Gleneden Beach, OR; sister, Juanita Young of Willits, CA; grandsons, Aaron, Jared, Ryan, Jacob, Thomas, Nathan, Paul, and Levi and granddaughters, Erin, Darby, Mackenzie, Sandy and Sarah Jane.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Dennis Mark and Michael James; brothers Clarion, Glenn and Lester Cochran grandson Bo and granddaughter, Brianna.
Burial will be in the Kirby’s Tucker’s Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas with Aaron Cochran, Jared Cochran, Ryan Cochran, Jacob Cochran, Thomas Cochran, and Nathan Cochran as pall bearers. Military Honors will be provided by the Alley-White American Legion Post #52 and United States Marine Corps Honor Guards.
Memorials may be made to the Missions Ministries at East Side Baptist Church or Hospice of the Ozarks.
