George Joseph Johoske

A Memorial Mass for George Joseph Johoske, will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at St. Peter The Fisherman Catholic Church with Reverend Father Stan Swiderski as Celebrant. Gathering of friends and family will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M., Monday, October 1, 2018 at the Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel.
George passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2018, in Mountain Home Arkansas. He was born in Lima, Ohio on January 2, 1929 to Milton and Beatrice (Parlette) Johoske.
He graduated from Bowling Green State University and served his country on active duty during the Korean War and was awarded the Bronze Star. He married Marge Kindt on August 29, 1953, and together they raised two children, Craig Johoske and Laura Johoske Davis. He was employed by Aeroquip Corporation in Van Wert, Ohio serving as head of manufacturing and engineering before becoming plant manager at the new facility in Mountain Home, Arkansas, from which he retired in 1992.
George was an active participant in community service. In Ohio he served as Chairman of the United Fund, Chairman of Parks and Recreation and a member of several community organizations.
In Mountain Home he served as President of the Rotary Club and Chamber of Commerce and was a former President and lifetime member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. He served on the boards of Hospice of the Ozarks and Baxter Regional Medical Center. George was a member of St. Peter The Fisherman Catholic Church, where he was a Eucharistic Minister, Collections Counter, and member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife Marge; two children, son, Craig Johoske of Houston, Texas, and daughter, Laura (Brent) Davis of Benton, Arkansas; brother, Todd (Sherry) Johoske of Columbia, South Carolina; grandchildren, Amber Johoske of Houston, Texas, Scott (Amanda) Parsons of Benton, Arkansas, Paul (Kirsten) Davis of Conway, Arkansas, Stephanie Davis of Benton, Arkansas, Sara (Jason) Kennon of Benton. Arkansas; two great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces from Arizona, California, Ohio, Michigan, Virginia and Arkansas.
George was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Richard of Roscommon, Michigan.
Burial will be in Maple Leaf Cemetery at Put in Bay, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks or to St. Peters Catholic Church.
