Dorene Stoner

A Funeral Service for Dorene Stoner of Cotter, Arkansas, will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at Antioch Baptist Church, with Seth Stoner officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 16, 2019, from 1:00 pm until service time, at Antioch Baptist Church.

Dorene passed away January 14, 2019, in Gassville, Arkansas at the age of 89. She was born March 27, 1929, in Advance, Arkansas, the daughter of C.F. and Bertha Galloway Gaines. She married Felix Stoner on March 23, 1946, in Mountain Home, Arkansas and was a manager for Marbax Clothing Store. Dorene lived in the area for most of her life, most recently in Cotter and Flippin. She was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church. When she was living at home, she loved working in her garden, working on puzzles, and was a hostess at White Sands and the Brass Door Restaurants.

Dorene is survived by her two sons, Don (Tiffany) Stoner of Midway, AR, and Seth Stoner of Billings, OK; brother, D.E. Gaines of Mountain Home, AR; three grandchildren, Jashenia (Troy) Garland, Josh Stoner, and Justin (Sarah) Bishop; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Dorothy Whitaker.

Burial will be in the Flippin Cemetery, Flippin, Arkansas.

The family appreciates the care given to Dorene by Mindy Perry and her staff at Riverlodge Assisted Living.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks.
