Donald Radtke

Donald R Radtke of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away January 5, 2021, in Gassville, Arkansas at the age of 78. He was born October 5, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Richard and Virginia Altman Radtke. He married Sharon on February 25, 1961, in Chicago, Illinois, and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. Don worked for People's Gas Company in Chicago, and then Browning-Ferris Industries. Don lived in Mountain Home since moving from Sarasota, Florida, in 2018. He was a member of the V.F.W. and he enjoyed bowling, camping, horseshoes, snowmobiling, and working in the yard.

Don is survived by his daughter, Carol Leach of Mountain Home, AR; son, Russel (Barbara) Radtke of Winthrop Harbor, IL; daughter, Tracy (Jim) Gitzinger of Prairie Grove, IL; four brothers, Bobby, Kenneth, David, and Roger Radtke; sister, Roxanne Escamilla; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

A Family Gathering was held on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Wounded Warriors.
