Services for Richard R. Geery of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be held privately at Kirby & Family Funeral Home. A public visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 PM, Sunday, August 1, 2010 at the funeral home.
Richard died Friday, July 30, 2010 at his residence, at the age of 82. He was born December 19, 1927 in Chicago, IL, the son of "Gene" Cleo and Vlasta Kara Geery. He married Pauline Fischer on March 11, 1950 at Riverside, Illinois and worked as a Maintenance Supervisor for Reynolds Aluminum Co. Richard Geery was a U.S. Army veteran during the Korean War. Richard lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas since 1985 moving from Lombard, Illinois.
Richard is survived by his wife Pauline, sisters-in-law, Janeth Murphy, Virginia Geery and Jeanie Fischer, brother-in-law, Al Polhorsky and was proud to be an uncle to 13 loving nieces and nephews, Vincent, Robert and Thomas Hanke, Dorothy Unger, Judith Strachan, Lloyd Warble, Ed Polhorsky, Walt, Paul and Kathy Geery, Timothy and Kenneth Fischer, and Martha Mullen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother and 2 sisters-in-law and 4 brothers-in-law.
Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery.
