He died Wednesday, March 3, 2010 in Mountain Home, AR, at the age of 67. He was born in Oakland, IA, the son of Manford and Winnifred McKee Shanno. He married Sally Brierly on February 14, 2004 at Des Moines, Iowa. He was a retired heavy equipment operator for Pottawatamie County Iowa. He was a U.S. Marines Corps veteran and lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas for 16 years moving from Carson, Iowa. He was a volunteer for the Meals On Wheels program at the Van Matre Senior Center. He loved fishing, gardening, and sharing his garden's harvest with the seniors at the senior center. He also loved his "little buddy", Skeeter.
Jack Shanno is survived by his wife Sally Shanno.
He was preceeded in death by his parents.
