Biography

Funeral services for Edwin W. Schild of Mountain Home, AR, will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at Christ by the Lake Lutheran Church, Bull Shoals with Pastor Dave Mattson officiating.

Visitation will be Monday, from 5-7PM at Kirby & Family Funeral & Cremation Services, Mountain Home.

Edwin Schild went home to be with his beloved wife, in Mountain Home, AR at the age of 78. He was born in Chicago, IL, the son of William C. and Rose Mensch Schild. Edwin married Ethel Koehne on June 14, 1952 at Chicago, IL. He was a U.S. Army veteran of Korea. Edwin worked as a Grocery Store Manager before going to work for the United States Postal Service. He lived in Mountain Home, AR since 1994 moving from Dolton, IL. Edwin was "Proud to be an American" and proud of his grandchildren. Edwin was an avid bowler at Driftwood Lanes and will be remembered as always having a joke or story to tell.

Edwin Schild is survived by son Mark Schild (Patty) of Denver, N.C. daughter, Debbie Motluck of Aurora, IL, brother, Richard Schild (Dorothy) of Greer, SC, and four grandchildren, Lindsay and Kenneth Schild and William and Joseph Motluck.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother and two sisters.

Entombment will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum, Mountain Home, AR, with Bob Stewart, Ted Gilbert, Frank Kaye, Bob Singley, John Wells as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the grandchildren.

Military honors will be provided by Ozark V.F.W. Post #3246 Honor Guard.

Memorials may be made to the St. Jude’s Children's Fund.
