Mr. William Perley Gilbert
December 2, 1937 — January 16, 2015
William Perley Gilbert (Bill), age 77, of Springdale, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on January 16, 2015. Bill was born in El Paso, TX on December 2, 1937 to William Van and Edna Laura Christopher Gilbert.
He loved his family and his church, and enjoyed golf. He attended Ouachita Baptist College and the University of Arkansas, where he became a Razorback fan for life.
Bill is survived by two siblings, Carolyn Van (Ray) Pankey, and Jack (JoAnn) Gilbert; four sons - Billy (Kelly) Gilbert of Bella Vista, Chris Gilbert of Rogers, Shannon (Mary) Gilbert of Morgan Hill, CA, and Derek Gilbert of Acworth, GA.; two grandchildren - Taylor Gilbert of Modesto, CA, and Shannon Van Gilbert II of Greensboro, NC. Preceding his passing were his parents and his brother, James Edward.
Services will be graveside at Friendship Cemetery in Springdale, AR, on Tuesday, January 20 at 1:00.
Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to Hospice of the Ozarks, 701 Burnett Drive, Mountain Home, AR 72653 or First Baptist Church, 3364 West Pleasant Grove Road, Rogers, Arkansas 72758.
