A Funeral Service for Velma Smith of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 2:00 pm, Friday, April 29, 2016, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Mike Clark officiating.
Velma passed away April 24, 2016, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 103. She was born December 23, 1912, in McComb, Illinois, the daughter of Ernest and Ethel Featherlin Jackson. She married Levi Smith on September 2, 1945, at Mommouth, Illinois and worked first as a telephone operator then as a secretary for International Harvester company. Velma lived in Mountain Home since 1957, moving from Canton, Illinois.
Velma is survived by her step-daughter-in-law, Rita Smith; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Levi N. Smith.
Burial will be in the Baxter Memorial Gardens, Mountain Home, AR.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
