A private family service was held for Tira Ruth Seeley of Lakeview, Arkansas.
Tira passed away May 26, 2016, at home in Lakeview, Arkansas surrounded by her family at the age of 56. She was born November 15, 1959, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the daughter of Thomas and Nancy Reames Mowry. She married the love of her life, Alan Seeley on October 20, 2012 at Kerrville, TX. Tira was a high school teacher with a master's degree in special education from Cameron University in Lawton, OK. She was Phi Beta Kappa and graduated Suma Cume Laude. She had a great love of learning and adventure. Tira's passion for children continued in her advocacy for intelligent gun control and her membership in Mother's Demanding Gun Action in America. She was a committed Christian and although she and Alan had only lived in Lakeview, AR for several years they considered this area their home.
Tira is survived by her husband, Alan Seeley of Lakeview, AR; parents, Thomas and Nancy Mowry; son, John (Jessica Briley) Krueger and grandchildren, Caleb, Jack, and Caiden of Alexandria, LA; daughter, Megan (David) Krueger-Marchbanks of Arlington, TX; stepchildren, Shawna (Jay) Watkins of El Centro, CA, Michelle Wilkinson of Rock Falls, IL, Paula (Micah) Buyno of Sterling, IL, and Richard (Deanna) Seeley of San Antonio, TX; brothers, Tom Mowry, Jr. of Springdale, AR, and David (Vickie) Mowry of Broken Arrow, OK; sister, Laura (Joseph) Luke of Phoenix, AZ; 16 grandchildren by marriage and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
