A Memorial Service for Thomas Joseph Gaertner of Midway, Arkansas, will be 6:00 pm, Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel.
Tom passed away May 19, 2017, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 80. He was born November 28, 1936, in Floresville, Texas, the son of Joe and Mary Bench Gaertner. He married Patricia Turner on September 15, 1956, in San Antonio, Texas. Tom lived in Midway since moving from Victoria, Texas, in 2008. He enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR, dancing, and barbecuing.
Tom is survived by his wife, Patricia Gaertner of Midway, AR; three daughters, Suzie (Steve) Bennett of Midway, AR, Kitty (Ed) Nunes of Mountain Home, AR, and Anna (David) Dew of Pleasanton, TX; 14 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Julie Grasty; brother, Richard; and two sisters, Joey and Dorothy.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
