Mrs. Sarah Yawn

Sarah McCormick Yawn, 103, formerly of Camden, Arkansas, died July 20, 2014, at Gassville Therapy and Living. She was born November 13, 1910 in Perth, Mississippi, to Frank and Lessie Osborn McCormick. She was a graduate of Bellhaven College in Jackson, Mississippi. She married Forrest Wesley Yawn and lived in Camden most of her adult life. She had many wonderful years teaching English in the Camden public schools.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and siblings, Joe McCormick and Katherine Jenkins.

She is survived by her daughters, Sarah Kathryn Kelly of Mountain Home, AR, Nancy Massey of Fayetteville, AR and Bicki (Richard) Carter of Baton Rouge, LA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Melinda (Scott) Wile, Michael Kelly, Wesley Massey (Clark) Hill, Mitchell (Lori) Massey, Betsy Massey (Rob) Walker, Stuart Carter, Gibson Carter (Skip) Erwin, Wesley (Mark) Horobetz; ten great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; nephew, Jim Jenkins; and nieces, Nancy Gillespie, Billie Bell, Jane Ledbetter.

Funeral services will be held 11:00AM Friday, July 25, 2014 at First Presbyterian Church in Camden, Arkansas. A gathering of family and friends will be held after the service in the fellowship hall of the church.

Private family burial will be in Memorial Park, Camden, Arkansas.
