M. Max Freeman

A Celebration of Life for M. Max Freeman of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 2:00 pm, Monday, May 18, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church with Reverend Randy Ludwig officiating. A Gathering of Friends will be Sunday, May 17, 2015, from 5:00 until 8:00 pm. at Kirby & Family Funeral Home.

Max passed away May 14, 2015, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 73. He was born April 7, 1942, in Springfield, Missouri, the son of Maurice and Fredia Cox Freeman. He married Dorma Munter on February 16, 1996, at Bellefonte, Arkansas and owned and operated American Home Builders and was co-owner of Thompson Insurance, Inc. Max was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving in Japan. He lived in Mountain Home since 1975, moving from Little Rock, Arkansas. Max was the recipient of the Opal Award from the Mountain Home Chamber of Commerce in 2009; President of the Lions Club from 1982-1983 and Lion of the year in 1980; board member for the Ozark Community Home and Day Service Center; a member of the Independent Insurance Agencies of the State of Arkansas from 1978-2011 and on the Executive Committee Board from 1984-1988; a member of the Twin Lakes Home Builders from 1988-present and held many offices, including president; Mountain Home Elks Lodge member from 1989-present, serving as trustee from 2000-2003; board member of the Northeast Lakeside Fire Department from 1987-1994; a member of the Arkansas Home Builders Association from 1988-present serving as state president in 2009. Max was an avid Razorback fan, NASCAR fan and loved to travel in his RV and meet new friends.

Max is survived by his wife, Dorma Freeman of Mountain Home, AR; six children, Jeff Williams of Nixa, MO, Melissa (Rick) Steiner of Mountain Home, AR, Mark Freeman of Mountain Home, AR, Andy (Allyson) Hoffman of Austin, TX, Tony (Becky) Munter of Fayetteville, AR, and Mike (Tina) Munter of Rogers, AR; eleven grandchildren, Chance Williams, Maggie "Max" Williams, Jackson Steiner, Graham Hoffman, Lola Hoffman, Richie (Courtney) Seay, Derek Munter, Kyle Munter, Cade Munter, Hannah Hope Munter, Haddie Grace Munter; and two great-grandchildren, Koston Seay and Kaiser Seay.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Inurnment will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum, Mountain Home, Arkansas.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks, Baxter Day Service Center, or a charity of choice.

Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
