Dorothy A. Baye

A Celebration of Life for Dorothy A. Baye, 92, of Bull Shoals, Arkansas, will be 11:00 am, Monday, March 27, 2017, at Christ By The Lake Lutheran Church in Bull Shoals, AR. with Pastor Sherman Gordius officiating. A Memorial Service for Dorothy and her brother Allen will be held this spring in WI,. Allen preceded Dorothy in death by two weeks.

Dorothy passed away March 20, 2017, in Bull Shoals, Arkansas. She was born November 5, 1924, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, the daughter of Arnie and Thora Elmyra Anderson. Dorothy was raised on the family Dairy Farm and received her teaching certificate from the Eau Claire Teacher's College. Dorothy taught elementary education and then went on to get her B.S. and her Master's at Drake University in Iowa. She taught at University of Wisconsin in the Education Department, served as a principal of an elementary school in Champagne, IL and then moved to Seattle and taught Special Education. She also worked as a parish worker in Mt. Prospect, IL, traveled for an educational supply company and was the author of several spelling books. She married Floyd Baye on November 5, 1981, in Concrete, Washington and after retiring from teaching they traveled around the country with Floyd delivering large boats. The two of them loved to travel and camp, serving as camp ground hosts around the country. The moved to Bull Shoals in 2006. Dorothy was a member of Christ by the Lake Lutheran Church.

Dorothy is survived by her sisters, Carol (Jim) Matson of Bull Shoals, AR and Alice Myers (Bill) of Mesa, AZ; brother, Lloyd (Alydia) Anderson of Johnson Creek, WI; sister-in-law, Doris Anderson; brothers-in-law; Reynold Eneboe, Butch Baye, Morris (Vi) Baye, and George (Gwen) Baye and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and four siblings.

Special thanks to the dedicated people at Carefree Living in Bull Shoals where Dorothy spent her last year after suffering several strokes and to Hospice of the Ozarks.
