A Funeral Service for Della L. Green of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 3:00 pm, Thursday, October 23, 2014, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Randy Ludwig officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 22, 2014 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm, at the funeral home.
Della passed away October 20, 2014, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 71. She was born December 12, 1942, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Melvin and June Kanner Vance. She married William Green on April 29, 1977, in Gainesville, Missouri and worked as a professional secretary, then later in life, a medical caregiver. Della lived in Mountain Home since 1969, moving from Wichita, Kansas. She was a member of the Sons & Daughters of Pearl Harbor Survivors and was of the Methodist faith. Della loved working with flowers on her porch and reading, especially the bible. She decorated her home beautifully for every holiday and loved spending time with her family. Della put everyone's needs before her own and cared for people dearly.
Della is survived by her husband, William Green of Mountain Home, AR; son, Larry (Kathy) Hutchinson of Park City, KS; daughter, Deborah Sullivan of Harrison, AR; son, Christopher McEndree of CA; seven grandchildren, Ashley Bentley Havens, Samuel Dustin Bentley, Mason Sullivan, Sonya Bates, Sasha Hutchinson, Sarah Hutchinson and Caroline McEndree; nine great-grandchildren and two nephews, Bryce and Billy Boyd.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Billy and June Boyd; father, Melvin Curtis Vance and brother, Maxwell Boyd.
Burial will be in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Bentley, Kansas.
Memorials may be made to the Twin River Community Living Facility, Inc., 201 Dodd Creek Road, Mountain Home, AR 72653.
