Alva "Al" Phillips

A Funeral Service for Alva "Al" Lee Phillips of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, September 10, 2014, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Bill Hughes officiating.

Al passed away September 6, 2014, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 83. He was born June 5, 1931, in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Alva Phillips and Sarah Williams Phillips. He married Jackie on June 8, 1957 in Des Moines, Iowa. Al lived in Mountain Home since 1976, moving from Des Moines, Iowa. He was an awesome, loving, hardworking husband, dad and grandpa. Al loved spending time with his family.

Al is survived by his wife, Jackie Phillips of Mountain Home, AR, daughter, Julie (Chuck) Kirkwood, two sons, Jeff (Joanne) Phillips, and Alan (Amanda) Phillips all from Mountain Home, AR, eleven grandchildren, Mandi, Dakota (Aaren),Jayden, Logan, Tracer, Skeet, Cody, Dylan, Mason, Riley, and Tanner, one sister, Marlene (Alan) Rasmussen, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and three sisters.

Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas, with Alan Phillips, Jeff Phillips, Chuck Kirkwood, Dakota Kirkwood, Logan Phillips, and Tracer Phillips as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may go to the family at Integrity First Bank, Mountain Home.
