Dear Kirby-Boaz Funeral Directors, Thank you for your generous cash donation or items valued at $25 to the Mountain Home Lions Club. With the generous support of people like you, we have been able to help many individuals by providing sight care services they would otherwise be unable to afford. Last year we were able to send blind children to camp, provide exams, new prescription glasses, canes for local blind individuals, and cataract surgeries, as well as supporting the Mountain Home christian Clinic with sight care services. From the time of the inception of the KTLO radio auction in 1953, we have been able to provide Sightcare assistance soley with the auction proceeds. We've since added the broadcasting of the auction on local XL-7 TV, making the radio/TV auction even better. The 2006 auction was as rewarding as ever an event; the club raising over $24,000.00. We are proud and honored to carry on our mission to serve our community. We look forward to your continued support. Sincerely, Shelly Hill President, Mountain Home Lions Club

Dear Elton and Mary, Thank you for all your loving care and concern shown to me and my family on the death of my husband, Ben. Your attention to detail and your desire to honor Ben's life as we wanted you to went well beyond what you were required to do and it was greatly appreciated. The happiest time of Ben's life was during his military years and he relived them any time he could get someone to listen. It brought tears to his eyes when people would stop him on the street and thank him for his years in the Marine Corps. (Ben always had either a hat on with a Marine ensigna or a shirt proclaiming how "great the Marine Corps was."). Our trip to West Virginia was easy because of all the work you did beforehand. And...we keep getting comments on the wonderful video. The Memorial service was beautiful and every detail was taken care of. Thank you, too, for your part in sending us the book, Lift Up Thine Eyes. This inspirational volume is a balm to my tender heart. Thank you again for everything. Marge Thomas

Dear Elton and Mary Boaz, I am very late in gettin this out- please forgive. Mary, Thank you so much for all your concern and kindness shown to me and my family regarding the loss of Charles. When I would see your picture in the paper before I would think to myself "what a beautiful lady." Now I know you are just as beautiful inside. I thank God that he provides people such as yourself to get us through such trying times. Charles was a big man who left a big hole in our hearts when he was called home but, with God's help, we are slowly picking up the pieces and going on. God bless you. Faye Harris and family

Dear Elton, I have several "thank you's" for you, the first being a thank you for my induction into Rotary. It was very special for me to see you at the polium that day. I will certainly try my best to live up to the standards of other members as I truly want to give back to the community that has been so supportive of all of my porfects. This area has become my home and you and Mary have made me feel very secure about living here. I am so grateful that we teamed up to do "The Last Dance" and look frowqard to our projects in the future. Thand you for a friendship that I cherish. Thoughtfully, Judy Fagan

Dear Mary, What can I say to such an incredible lady that hasn't been said to you before? Perhaps "thank you" for letting me in to enjoy a little part of your world and that I appreciate so much being able to have you in a little piece of mine. This is a great time for the Mtn. Home community to join hands to create the best prevention based activities that the high schools can experience and I feel priviledged to be part of that with you. This next school year will be better than ever. Thank you dear friend. Thoughtfully, Judy Fagan

Follow up visits by Susan Johnson were a comforting addition to the services provided by Kirby-Boaz. The family of Joseph Nall Jr.(Exerpt from the Baxter Bulletin Friday, March 5, 2004)

Dear Bill Mackey, It was a real pleasure to meet you and to experience your professional staff. I was very impressed with the video presentation, impeccable facilities, tasteful decoration, and most of all a neatly dressed staff. Your work with Eloise was superior, she looked beautiful, her coloring and hair were perfect. I had a very pleasant and rewarding experience. I truly want to thank you and all at Kirby-Boaz for all you did to accommodate the Holland family and myself. If I can ever be of assistance in any way please do not hesitate to call. Sincerely, Reverend Richard Bolton.

Dear Elton, Just a few lines to thank you so very much for the services in Bull Shoals for Chet. Everything went so well and Jason's Video was the perfect touch, expecially with the added scenes of mountains, lakes, etc. To go from seeing that to sprinking Chet's ashes in Bull Shoals Lake made for a good transition. I know I owe you a debt of gratitude for making things work so well from Bel Arco reservations, to dinner for 14 at Gastons - it all flowed along. Also lunch at 178 club. They all took such good care of us. Again, Thank you so much, have a good holiday.

Pat Parsons P.S. I neglected to thank the woman who was in charge at the funeral home {Rita Watts} she was gracious and helpful.

Dear Mr. Kirby, We, of the Bull Shoals Historical Society would like to express our gratitude to you for making a permanent museum possible for the Bull Shoals area. Without your generosity and commitment, we would still be searching and looking for a home for our museum. We sincerely appreciate all you have done for the Bull Shoals Historical Society. We are a young organization and have been able to accomplish a great deal in five years. We have published three books, sold custom stationary and pins, and made and sold authentic corn cob jelly. We have participated in other community events such as Wishing Star Park, The Chili Cook-Off and Art in the Park. We want you to know that the location and reception of the community has far exceeded our expectations. From July until closing in October we had approximately 550 guests. Eighty surrounding communities, and vistors from other areas of Arkansas. Visitors came from as far away as New Mexico, Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Nebraska, Missouri, Texas, Kansas, Illinois, Indiana, And Georgia just to mention a few. We also had vistors from Greece. Thank you so much. Kirby-Boaz Funeral Directors and Bull Shoals Historical Socieyy is a good partnership and together we have created a museum that is an asset to our cummutity.

Sincerely, Bull Shoals Historical Society President Bill Jeffrey

I don't want the busy pace of life to stop me from thanking the staff for all the caring that was so evident at my Moms services. It started with a call from Mary who was so kind. I am so sorry---but the only other name I remember is David---he was the shoulder to lean on---he was the soft voice that spoke with reassurance---he was like a whisper of a dove---just appearing out of nowhere when we most needed him. He was always there with tenderness and compassion, a smile, warmth, sincerity and comfort. He took care of us with the tenderness of an angel . I thank the entire staff for the beautiful services and memories. I told David---I wish I lived closer, you took care of my Dad, you took care of my Mom and in ways----you also took care of me. Thank You---"Carol Ann White" daughter of Mary O Biggerstaff

We wish to thank the Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home for the manner in which you handled the arrangements for Mary L. Henry. We were very well pleased with everything. Thank you, Bill Mackey. Jim and Dorothy Adams

Dear Bill: You and your staff were so great and so nice. Everything was perfect and appropriate and couldn't have asked for nicer people and more helpful arangements!!! sincerely, David Schroder.

Dear Elton and Mary, I would like to express my thanks to the staff at Kirby-Boaz in more than just a survey. The funeral director for my mother's service was Bill Mackey. My husband and I have known Bill for many years and at this time in my life I was very comfortable having someone I know assist me with the funeral. I want to say that Bill was very professional and compassionate. Every detail was thoroughly explained and the service was just as my mother would have wanted. At the church, before the viewing and service, I found out the other funeral director for my mother's service was Rita Watts. We have been friends for many years and I was so pleased Rita was there to share this time of grief with me. I can't tell you enough how much I appreciated having Bill and Rita there with me and my family. They are both great assets to the Kirby-Boaz Funeral Directors.

I would also like to mention that the time of the "private family viewing" was very special to our family. Since my sister, brother-in-law, son, daughter-in-law and infant grandson live in Lady Lake and St. Augustine, FL. we don't often have a chance to be together. We were able to stay as along as we wanted at the funeral home and we also viewed the video of Gertrude's life, which gave us a chance to remember happier days.

The entire staff (including the cemetery staff) at Kirby-Boaz should be commended for doing such a great job at a very stressful time in a person's life. The moment you walk in the front door you know "they care". Sincerely, Sharon A. Dudones

Dear Kirby-Boaz Funeral Directors, It is very difficult to find the words to express the appreciation we have for all the individuals involved in mother's funeral. You all made a difficult time very easy to go through. Mother was beautiful. Kirby-Boaz goes beyond what is expected. The volume of "Lift Up Thine Eyes" is spectacular. Thank you all so very much. The Family of Mavia Ray Faught

Mary, I want to personally thank you for being so kind to my dad and family. I know that is part of your position, but it was very much appreciated. Thank you also for letting my brother and me see Mom on Saturday. It was very beneficial for me...thank you. You all made Mom look wonderful. I am really glad you guys started the video series. That was amazing. Now we will have other great memories of Mom. Jackie Royer

Dear Elton:

This is a very belated note to say a big thank you for your services on behalf of our mother, Jeannette Tenner. You, Mary, and your entire staff, especially Bill Mackey, Rita Watts, and Betsy Johnson, made a very difficult time extremely comforting and hassle-free. Beginning with our pre-meeting and the efficiency and professionalism with which that was conducted, your attention to deatil took the burden off us as we mentally had thoughts elsewhere. The finely appointed and quite versatile facilities made us and our guest feel welcomed and at home during the wake and funeral service. Finally, the graveside gathering and the courtesy of the staff all helped to bring closure to the grieving process without once inflicting further stress upon it. Your attention to all the details are too many to list here but I must mention that you made our mother, in her final moments with us, look beautiful and this is how we will remember her. My daughter was amazed that you made her wrinkles disappear and many others commented on how complimentary her lipstick shade was and she should have worn it more often! Kudos to your technician. The Kirby-Boaz website is a great tool. The Guest Book was used by those who wanted to but could not be in attendance. We were able to print extra copies of our mother's obituary and send them along to many friends as notification, or enclose with thank you notes. Again, we cannot say enough thanks for the friendliness, compassion, and attention to detail extended us during our lowest moments. We were spared many decisions at a time when much action was required of us. Your philosophy about life and death is inspirational. The strength we draw from that is very much appreciated and further attests to your much deserved award-winning status. Best regards,

Kathleen Waterloo and Barbar Laird

Bill Mackey and Rita Watts, Thank you for all of your care and attention. You both are so dear and just made things so much easier to deal with. Thank You, Sue Alger

Mary, Getting the NFDA survey in the mail and filling it out reminded me of how thankful I am that you were so helpful in planning my father's funeral. I truly don't know what we would have done without you. Thank you also for all your extra efforts with the local bank on my dad's checks. He was so young and I still can't believe he is gone. I never expected to have to go through this so early in my life. Thank you for being there. Rachel Young, daughter of Ron Osterhus

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Kirby and Mary Boaz, First of all let me tell you how very wonderful your whole staff was during a difficult time for me and my family. Bill Mackey was a very patient and helpful. Dear Mary, thank you again for all of your help, concerns, and caring. You made a time of grief and loss much, much easier. Every service was first class and I know Mom would have greatly approved. Dear Elton, The women of East Side Baptist Church would like to thank you for your donation of "emery boards". This made a nice addition to our "treat Bag" that each of the women received at our annual Women's Retreat, February 28th through March 1st at Stonecroft Conference Center in Hollister, Missouri. Yours truly, The 2003 Women's Retreat Committee of East Side Baptist Church

Dear Mr. Kirby, We were recently involved in the funeral of our brother, Robert Suddeth. We wish to thank you for the way that the arrangements and funeral were handled. The options for the service were clearly and carefully explained. When we wavered over choices, you shared your expertise with us in a caring way. We especially liked the photo memory boards. Our family spent the evening going over old pictures and recalling events, indeed a celebration of life rather than a mourning for a loss. We thank you for making a difficult time less painful. Sincerely, The family of Robert Suddeth

Dear Mary, Thank you so much for all of your help and concern, especially your prayers. You are a very sweet and special lady. The family of Jane Stout

I just want to thank you folks and your staff once again for all you did to help us get through this. Everyone said how beautiful my wife looked and she certainly did.

You are a great bunch of people.

Dear Elton and Mary, Your enthusiasm and support for the "Cotter School Last Dance program" overwhelmed me. You are two of the kindest, most caring people I have met in Mountain Home. This journey I have been on with this school project has introduced me to some of the "finest of the fine" here and you are definitely at the top of that list. Thank you for your assistance, your sincere interest and your friendship. I hope our paths will continue to cross in the future. If I can ever be of any service to you, please do not hesitate to call. Affectionately, Judy Fagan, Alcohol Safety Program Coordinator

Dear Elton, Ruth, and Mary,

Today, I received the book, "Lift Up Thine Eyes" arranged for by six companies in Mountain Home, of which Kirby- Boaz was one of those businesses. This is a wonderful book. I believe that it will provide much comfort now and into the future. What a thoughtful thing for you to do. The folder containing information on grief and area support groups has also helped in dealing with my loss.

I chose Kirby-Boaz Funeral Directors based on "word of mouth" and a friend's experience with your company. The professional and compassionate manner in which the death of my husband was handled was impressive and something I will always remember. You truly made a time of great sorrow, bearable.

Thank you for your kindness and consideration. To all of you, here is one person who thinks "you're the best".

Sincerely,
Roberta Maggart

Dear Mary, Thank you for doing the crds. Relatives will be pleased. Alice Caulfield, BVM

Dear Mr. Kirby and Ms. Boaz, I have been informed by Kenneth A. Camp of the Batesville Living Memorial Program, that a tree was being planted in one of our national forests, which will be considered as a memorial and in honor of my deceased husband, John Goger. It is my understanding that the request to plant the tree was initiated by your office. Many thanks for your caring and kindness. I also would like to add that I am continuously impressed by your dedication and professionalism. It is a true blessing to have an institution with such high standards in our community. Sincerely, Marguerite Goger

Dear Mr. Kirby, Please accept my sincere thanks for all your time and efforts extended to me regarding the request for a Flag for my son, Chief SM Dick W. Paschen, who is retiring from the US Air Force, having served for 27 years. Through Senator Mark Pryor's office I received an order form, which I filled out and sent to him. Then I had a call from the Senator's office that there had already been a request for a Flag for him. I had to wait until the Ceremonies on January 7, 2005 to find out "who". As it turned out, it was the POL men and women who put in the request. All my children attended the wonderful Ceremonies given by the POL division of the US Air Force and the Flag was presented to him at that time. It was indeed a very special event for all of us. Sincerely yours, Bernadine Paschen

Dear Elton and Mary,

Thank you so much for your financial support and your loving care for the students in "The Last Dance". Not only have we become a team over the years, but a truly beautiful friendship has sparked from all that we have done together. I hope we can open doors in Marion County next year, because I believe we have many more opportunities in the future to send this prevention message to hundreds more of these students. Thank you for all that you do to support my dreams for the alcohol prevention program. You make it happen.

Love, Judy

Dear Elton,

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you and your staff for such a wonderful service for our granddaughter, Jasmine Marie Manuel Iverson. Please give Bill Mackey my sincere thanks for a great job, especially during some difficult situations. His kindness and assistance will always be remembered.

The funeral home's financial assistance to families of infant deaths cannot be expressed in words. Your kindness touched our hearts and our "thank you" seems so small compared to all you've done.

God bless everyone at Kirby-Boaz.

Regards, Carry manuel and family

Dear Bill and Associates, How can I ever thank you enough for the special deeds and services you gave me for conducting Leta Fritz's funeral. You saw to all needs of her family. Bill, you and your staff did so many personal touches. Reprinting the memory sheet, the order of the Funeral service and especially the DVD. I typed the order of the photos and put in years and messages from the back of snapshots so family and friends can view with some insight from Leta. Your choice of music Bill was perfect. I probably have no idea how many versions of a song there can be. I've been overwhelmed by the kindness and love from the Mountain Home community. You all should feel proud to be part of it. Thank you again Bill. I hope you were able to enjoy the Holiday. We got in some golf. Sincerely, Sandy and Lee Roulson and family

You asked if I would send you a list of trainings that have not yet been sponsored by service organizations in our community. You have already done so much that I hesitated to do this. Thank you for allowing me to send this letter. I appreciate your interest in the literacy council and your friendship and guidance over the past year.

Dear Elton, I want to express my deepest gratitude to you and your staff. Your help and guidance during this horrible time was invaluable! I also appreciate the way my fathers body was handled with dignity and respect when Jason and the other man came to pick him up. I don't know the other mans name, but his hug was comforting after they closed the car door, right before they took him. It was also that same man that took my arm to guide us to the luncheon. Thank you! Deb Kraemer, daughter of Ray Embrey

Mr. Kirby: The students of Arkansas State University - Beebe, Jonesboro and Mountain Home thank you for your presentation regarding small business management
